Type: Video Contest and Essay Contest

Eligibility: Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and Canada excluding Quebec who are 13 years of age or older as of date of Entry. Professional videographers, photographers and writers, or anyone who earns at least 20% of their income by providing these services are not eligible to enter this Contest.

Deadline: 01 January 2009.

How to Enter the Contest:

During the Promotion Period, individuals may enter the contest online by visiting Contest Website, and following the onscreen instructions to submit a video or an essay with an optional photo. Entrants must upload an original video (maximum of 180 seconds or 3 minutes) or submit an original essay (maximum 500 words) with optional photo that reflects the spirit of an athlete and post the video or essay into one of five galleries: strength, determination, community, inspiration and empowerment. Individuals may submit up to fiveoriginal entries into the Contest, one per gallery. Multiple submissions of the same entry will not be accepted.

Prizes:

Grand Prize - A trip for two to the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Idaho along with a Canon camcorder or similar, an HP Printer Package, a World Winter Games embossed leather journal, a World Winter Games baseball hat and World Winter Games assorted branded promotional items.

Winter White Photo Contest 2008

Type: Photo Contest

Eligibility: The contest is open to the public

Deadline: March 6, 2008

How to Enter the Contest:

Your photo must meet the requirements

• 1800 x 1200 pixels (minimum size)
• Black & White or Colour
• Electronic format only (.jpg, .raw, .tif)
• 300 dpi resolution

The entry:

• must be an original photo that was taken for the purpose of this contest
• must not be a photo that has been copied or reproduced from a third party source
• must be related to this year's event, "Winter White." i.e.: snow carving, winter activities, winter scenery. Subject matter must be within Saskatoon's South Saskatchewan River Valley.

3. A maximum of 3 photos only per competitor may be submitted.

Scuba Diving Photo contest 2008

Type: Photo Contest

Eligibility: The competition is open to photographers anywhere in the world.

Deadline and entry fees: March 15, 2008. The fees are $10 per entry.

How to Enter the Contest:
You can compete in four categories: Marine Life, Macro, Wide-Angle, Topside.

Rainforest Alliance's "Picture Sustainability" Photo Contest 2008

Type: Photo Contest

Eligibility: Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older as of the date the contest begins.

Timing: December 21, 2007 - March 15, 2008

How to Enter the Contest: Please enter the contest by completing the on-line submission form and submitting your original photograph electronically at www.raphotocontest.org. Entries must be submitted in JPEG format (as .jpg files) and should be at least 1MB but shall not exceed 5MB. No photo montages or composite images will be accepted. If your photograph(s) include a recognizable person or people, you must secure permission from each person (or in the case of a minor, the minor's parent or guardian) to use his/her image in the photo contes.
Five categories include:
1. Wildlife on coffee, cocoa and fruit farms, in forests or other natural habitats (insects, birds, reptiles and amphibians, mammals and fish).
2. Landscape/Scenic (tropical forests, temperate forests, boreal forests, rivers, streams and waterfalls, flowers and plants, beaches, wetlands, coral reefs).
3. Sustainable tourism in Latin America (hiking, bird-watching, mountain biking and other land-based nature activities, surfing, scuba, kayaking, snorkeling and other coastal or marine activities, other eco-tourism related subjects).
4. Macro (insects, flowers and plants, leafy vegetation, birds, reptiles and amphibians, mammals and textures).
5. Conservation in action (children and/or adults conserving natural resources, including water, flora and fauna).

Dream Trip Contest 2008

Type: Photo Contest

Eligibility: Open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (including District of Columbia), and Canada.

Timing: December 18, 2007 - October 16, 2008

How to Enter the Contest:
After registering for the Promotion, visit the Website and follow the links and instructions to provide information on "the place that you would like to take your dream trip" ("Dream Trip Answer"), upload a photograph that best depicts or captures a special travel moment and submit a text description that describes the moment and explains what made it special (the "Submission"). Your Submission will be judged as described in section 7 below against other Submissions entered during the applicable Entry Period. By completing the registration and entering your Submission, you agree that your Submission conforms to the Submission Guidelines and Content Restrictions as defined below (collectively, the "Guidelines and Restrictions") and that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may remove your Submission and disqualify you from the Promotion if it believes, in its sole discretion, that your Submission fails to conform to the Guidelines and Restrictions.
